Reporting to the CEO, the CFO will be responsible for the full cycle accounting and all corporate financial transactions involving day to day operations. This will include ensuring accurate financial records and maintaining internal processes and controls related to corporate finances, such as, monthly payroll, professional fees, client invoicing and related processes are completed on time as required.

 

The right candidate is experienced in the CFO role, preferably having previous experience working within a software or technology company. Also, the candidate should understand how to help prepare and drive corporate fund-raising activities including pitching venture capital and having prepared forward looking financial projections in the past.

 

The CFO will ensure corporate finances are compliant with taxation, filing GST returns. Also, project specific receivables and client follow-up for unpaid balances.

 

The CFO will also be responsible for records management including contracts, agreements, statements of work, NDA’s are accurately filed and maintained.

 

Further, the CFO will work closely with the executive team to ensure effective budgeting is in place for effective operations and long-term success of the company. This may also include submitting grant applications with various organizations within government and/or non-profit associations.

 

The CFO role will focus on achieving excellence in the following key areas:

Qualifications:

 

Four (4) year degree required in the field of Accounting or Finance or Business Administration and/or equivalent.

 

Minimum five (5) years of experience in the CFO role or senior role preferably within a technology or software company.

 

Experience with Quickbooks Online is an asset.
